bedazzled study
in a privater collection
sold through Edgewater Gallery
When working on paintings for a show, I often start with value studies in charcoal and pencil, and then sketch with oil on paper. If I’m happy with these smaller studies, I use a Raymar linen on board canvas.
This study is slightly different in composition to the final larger work.
“Still, what I want in my life
is to be willing
to be dazzled –
to cast aside the weight of facts
and maybe even
to float a little
above this difficult world.”
– Mary Oliver
