Bedazzled
available through Edgewater Gallery
On the back way to Middlebury from my home in Proctor,
Route 73 heads up a high hill to intersect with Route 30.
A great hulk of a barn looms up at me and the gleam of
metal roofing in the morning light can be dazzling.
I’ve tried to capture that bright gleam in this painting.
“Still, what I want in my life
is to be willing
to be dazzled –
to cast aside the weight of facts
and maybe even
to float a little
above this difficult world.”
– Mary Oliver
