let my love open the door
in a private collection
sold through Edgewater Gallery
Hudson Falls, New York has an elegant old belle of a barn, and she reminds me of Emily Dickinson for some inexplicable reason. This deceptively simple structure has seven doors on one wall. I wished I could open one up to allow the painting to ‘breathe.’ I guess this painting is about possibilities.
I dwell in Possibility —
A fairer House than Prose —
More numerous of Windows —
Superior — for Doors —
Of Chambers as the Cedars —
Impregnable of Eye —
And for an Everlasting Roof
The Gambrels of the Sky —
Of Visitors — the fairest —
For Occupation — This —
The spreading wide my narrow Hands
To gather Paradise —
