With fresh memories of the brilliant blue sunlit roofs that first struck me
a few days before, I arrived ready to paint a small study. I was thwarted by
early summer morning haze.

Undaunted, I set out to study the barn and surroundings, and began to appreciate
the light that made this barn on a back road to Brandon quietly
arresting.
