Oh, Let us turn our thoughts today
To Martin Luther King
And recognize that there are ties between us.
All men and women living on the Earth,
Ties of hope and love,
Sister and brotherhood.

Both of my ‘shed/boathouse’ paintings are meditations on layers
and interleaving. The longer I looked inside and through these
structures, thinking about the connections between the glimmering
light on fresh leaves and clean water, the more I felt tied to what is real.
