Behind the Rustic Roots restaurant in Shelburne,
Vermont is another barn that is usually hidden
by parked cars. I was there painting “Keeping Company”
on an early Sunday morning when I looked across the
dirt parking lot to catch sight of the branches of the
pine trees lightly caressing this metal barn roof.
